The Desert Mounted Corps : An account of the cavalry operations in Palestine and Syria, 1917-1918 / by R.M.P. Preston ; with an introduction by Sir H.G. Chauvel.
First printed in 1921 and authored by Lieut-Colonel Preston who commanded the guns with the Australian Mounted Division. The Australian Light Horse is featured in this book which is a precise account of the overall operations of the Desert Mounted Corps. The Desert Mounted Corps consisted of the  Anzac Mounted Division, the Australian Mounted Division, Yeomanry Mounted Division and the Imperial Camel Corps Brigade and later French cavalry. It was commanded by Australian Harry Chauvel and fought at the Battle of Beersheba, Megiddo and capture of Damascus.
Most authors who have written books about the Australian Light Horse over the years reference this book.
