The author's military story of his Grandfather and Great Uncle who both kept a diary during their WWI service. His Grandfather was George E. K. Kerr he was a Corporal with the 14th Battalion enlistment number 888.  George landed on Gallipoli and was taken prisoner by Turks after a violent battle during the August Offensives on Hill 971. Great Uncle Hedley Kitchin who enlisted separately with the 6th Battalion was Killed In Action in the early hours of 25th April 1915 about a kilometre inland of Anzac Cove.
