30 years ago the original 1984 First Edition become a bestseller. Patsy Adam-Smith during her life wrote several books about Australians at war. Her best known book was,  ' The Anzacs' published in 1978.
Patsy was a VAD during WW2.
She died in 2001.

If you have read The Anzacs you will know that this author is exacting and records mostly personal stories. 
It is excellent to research women in the services RAAF AIF Nursing Navy during all the wars.
Numerous illustrations. Everything to about the Army Girls, Nurses , Airwomen WAAF in fact anything to do with Australian women during all the wars.
Has a
very nice detail piece on the White Feather phenomenon of World War One.
