Letters from the Veldt ' by Len Harvey. Harvey has collected 160 pages of Australian Boer war letters, and has reproduced the text with lavish amount of rare photographs of the actual soldiers (like memorial book), battles and life of the Australian Bushmen Mounted Infantry during the war. Additional valuable historical text information also compliments the letters. The amount of personal soldier information is bewildering.

Due to the location archive sources of this information it is mostly an account of the Involvement of Volunteers from Queensland thus the Queensland Imperial Bushmen & Mounted Infantry Boer War 1899 - 1902 ( forerunners to the Fifth Light Horse ). Of interest that these were the first contingents to use the emu feather plume.

If you are researching the Boer War for family history or medal soldier history this is a must have for you !!
