 From May 1918, John Monash commanded the 5 Divisions of the newly formed ‘Australian Corps’.

After the success of the Battle of Amiens in August 1918, Monash was knighted at his headquarters located in the Chateau de Bertangles.
He later authored this book which is a history of his experiences during the 1918 victories.

The major victories written about in this book include the Defence of Amiens Dernancourt Villers-Bretonneux Battle of Hamel Battle of Mont St Quentin Battle of Hindenburg Line Mountbrehain.

Monash is the greatest Australian soldier and at the time was regarded as a military tactical genius.

At no time before or after WW1 has Australia ever held such prominence or power on the world stage as it did at the end of WW1.
