This is the Battalion History Book of the 2/15th Battalion 2 AIF. It is also the story of a distinguished Queensland battalion! Since 1975, members of the 2/15th Battalion Remembrance Club have been writing and recording tales of the 2/15th Australian Infantry Battalion. A number of these have appeared in their magazine, others didn't, and are being published here for the first time.
This book commemorates the self sacrifice of the officers and me ho served in this battalion; but it also reveals something of the "soul" of the battalion, by focusing not only on the battles, but also on some of the heroes and "characters" in the unit. Details of the Battalion in the Middle East at Tobruk and El Alamein; the landings in new Guinea at Lae and Finschhafen; and the final campaign at Borneo are all covered.
This is a history of the 2/15th Battalion, written by those who experienced it. Maps, photographs and nominal roll and honour rolls are all included to make this the definitive history of this battalion.
