The Boys Who Came Home. Recollections of Gallipoli.' book by Harvey Broadbent . From 1976 Broadbent worked as a writer producer and director for ABC Radio Television. Around 1979 he began to have thoughts and concern that there was a lack of visual history of the diggers who had taken part in the Gallipoli Campaign. Confronted with the fact that many diggers were in their 90's it was not until 1985 that interviews started to be organised.

Ultimately a special documentary was produced as a ABC Four Corners Documentary presented by Chris Masters. Called 'Gallipoli - The Fatal Shore' it was an instant success and was awarded the United Nations Association of Australia Media Peace Award in 1988.

This book documents those interviews and the memories of 22 of the " the boys who came home" from the Gallipoli campaign in 1915. They came from both sides of the conflict to remember, to recall the horror, confusion, hardship, courage and the humour of the Gallipoli campaign.
