This is the extraordinary story of Queenie Sunderland spanning her life from 1897 to 2000. This account, written in her 100th year, glows with wit, humour and insight that only ten decades of living and a love of learning can deliver.  A working woman of World War One in London. Queenie was impressed with the statue of Australian soldiers waiting at the local railway station.

One in particular, 162 Gunner Edward (Ted) Sunderland 1st Battery 1st Brigade AIF become known to Queenie and a love story endured culminating in their marriage - Ted had also served on Gallipoli, thus the title of the book. This book is very much their story of the war and returning to Australia. Their story is an example of the life and times of many Australian soldiers that married in England during the war and returned home with their new wives.

A very well written book which captures the reader to keep going. Especially considering the age of the author.

The book would be of high interest to any person that had similar family history and is demonstrative of a generation long gone.
