The World War One experiences of two gunners of 8th Field Artillery Brigade FAB 3rd Division AIF. Over 90 years ago two friends from the farming community of Cowra, NSW joined the AIF . They were journalist/cartoonist Harold Stephens and his neighbouring farmer W. (Billy) O'Neil. This book combines the diaries and photos of these two men, plus Hal Stephens' sketches, newspaper articles and extracts from his unpublished book 'Sacrifice Unending'. The material reveals the horrors of their wartime experiences.

The book would be of high interest to Family Historians and Medal Researchers as it is an excellent record of operations of the 8th FAB. The text is supported by personal photographs with details of pics from the Gunners.  Importantly, the book offers the life and times of artillerymen with a Australian FAB unit during WW1. Diaries run from 1916 to wars end
