Although only printed in 2002 this book is a scarce account of a Sapper with an Australian Field Engineers Company during WWII. Jack Heelan spent 6 years during WWII serving with the famed Aust 9th Division. Initally as a Rat of Tobruk , he was also present at the Battle of Alamein and was then recalled to fight the Japanese in New Guinea and Labuan Island Borneo. Heelan took part in the amphibious landing at Finchhaven and after building roads through the jungle on the Huon Peninsular New Guinea.

Would be of immense interest to a Family Historian researching the life and times of Australian Engineers.
