Tragedy of the Montevideo Maru, Rakuyo Maru and Kachidoki Maru. These ships were transporting Australian POWs from Rabaul and the Thai Burma railway locations.
En route to their destination, Japan slave labour camps, the ships were sunk by USA submarines. This program is a collection of veteran interviews, re-enactment scenes, rare period film and on location then and now footage.
