This memorial book records the history of service made by the people and town of Port Pirie South Australia during WW1. Port Pirie gave such an important and sizeable contribution during WW1, not just by way of individual men enlisting, but also through its industrial capability and social support for the cause among non-combatant residents - not to forget that 53% of all the Allied lead munitions expended in WW1 came from the Port Pirie Lead Smelter.
As can be seen from the 'contents' pages the book has an impressive list of topics including the many pages in memory of the soldiers from the district, post war memorials, the appendixes provide named lists including, Service Medal awards recipients, Gallantry medals, Gallipoli landers, Fallen Heroes and POW.
This is a large A4 formatted book of 300+ pages with numerous illustrations supporting the detailed narrative.
Obviously the book has high appeal for medal collectors, family history researchers with an interest in the Port Pirie District.
Remember, the cost of these memorial books only ever go up!
