Keogh began his military career in 1916 as a driver in the 1st Aust Wireless Squadron. Commissioned into the 24th Battalion in 1924. During World War Two he had various staff appointments in Middle East and South West Pacific .

This is an excellent book for a detailed veteran overview research of Australian forces participation in the Battle for Australia. Covers Singapore Milne Bay Kokoda Buna Sanananda Huon Markham Scarlet Beach Finschhafen Bougainville Balikpapan Tarakan. Concise for Kokoda and Milne Bay including copy of battle maps.
 
For USA friends YES it does cover US operations at Buna.
