C J Dennis books were extremely popular among AIF troops. First printed in 1918, Digger Smith was another success, in the last year of the war. This is nade in the format 5" x 7.5" which was referred to as the 'trench copy'. The book is dedicated to "THE AIF ' - a 1982 Reprint of that 1st edition.
