C J Dennis books were extremely popular among AIF troops and for that matter with the rest of the Australian community. There was even a format 5" x 7.5" edition which was referred to as the 'Trench Copy'. This was a WW1 classic selling some 60000 copies in the 1st year (huge amount for those times). We list 99.99% non fiction history books and only list this as sometimes people wish to read what the troops were reading in WW1.
