National Service

History of the Australian National Service 1951-1972 and Historical recollections from members of that Service. Covers the Australian National Service and members in Australia, Borneo, Malaya Conflict, Papua New Guinea and Vietnam War. Between 1951 and 1972 around 287000 young Australians were called up for compulsory military service. Many have fond memories of their service but for 212 it would cost them their life. A total of 1479 Nashos were wounded in active service.
