Chemical Warfare in Australia

The meticulously researched book unearths a 60 year secret. As the Japanese swept south towards Australia in late 1941, they carried with them chemical weapons already used with deadly effect in China.

Forced to counter this threat, Australia covertly imported about
one million chemical weapons including 16 different types of mustard gas. The weapons were hidden in tunnels and other sites throughout the country. The book tells the story of the importation, storage and live trials (guinea pig) of the deadly weapons.

This remarkable book contains over 300 photographs that illustrate the shocking extent of the danger and conditions to which our men were put under, handling the weapons,  the immense risks and the consequences of mistakes.

A large book of 700+ pages, hard cover with dust jacket.
