This booklet provides a short history of the Sparrow Force - the Australian force sent to oppose the Japanese advance into Timor during WW2. The force comprised by majority the 40th Battalion AIF and the 2nd Independent Company.  The bulk of the pages records the roll of the men who died whilst in service. After the 40th Battalion surrendered, a large group of the men died when the Tamahoko Maru was sunk.
