The 25th Battalion has a proud history which can be traced back to January 1875.
The Battalion saw service in World War One at Gallipoli and in the trenches
of France. Battle Honours being Somme Pozieres Bullecourt Ypres 1917 Menin Road
Polygon Wood Broodseinde Poelcapelle Passchendaele Amiens 1918 Albert 1918 Mont
St Quentin Hindenburg Beaurevoir Flanders 1916-18 Egypt 1915-16 and of course
Gallipoli 1915 . A sister Queensland Battalion to the 9 th Battalion. The enlistment
area was centred on the Darling Downs area. However, most members enlisted in
Brisbane for the 9th or 15th but then ended up in the 25th .
I believe this to be the only History ever written about the 25th BNE. As a
2nd Div Battalion it landed at Gallipoli in September 1915. FULL Honours and
Decorations List Honour Roll and Embarkation Roll which is excellent for medal
and genealogy research. Indexed and many many pictures of soldiers and place
maps. The book has excellent detailed text.
